Aloha

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this "scribble" technique.  Not sure if that is the proper term but that is technically what you do is just scribble your background on with markers.  I was going for a sunset look here.  I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set for my main image.  The "aloha" was just a local stamp I picked up somewhere, however, I used my go to punches the word window punch which layers beautifully on the modern label punch.  I added some burlap for a little added decoration and I was done!  I made 25 plus of these for invitations to a goodbye dinner for some friends of ours and it only took me a very short time to mass produce these.  I will definitely be using this technique the next time I need some cute projects in a hurry!

I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL Memorial Day weekend.  God Bless all of our men and women who have served and are serving our beautiful country.

Mojo Monday Challenge

I finally found time to play along with Mojo Monday's Challenge although I'm too late to participate this week.  I just recently ordered the Best of Flowers stamp set and I LOVE it!  I stamped these beauties in marina mist (one of my all time favorite blues) and old olive.  I just used my markers to ink up my stamp so I could get both colors on one stamp.  I'm still amazed how easy it is to do this!  That gorgeous patterned paper is from the Beau Chateau DSP which is retiring....don't forget to go check out all the deals on the retiring accessories and the clearance rack before they are all gone!  The new catalog starts in just a few days!  Stampin Up is letting us order early this year since the 1st falls on the weekend so we can begin ordering on the 31st of May (that sentiment on the card above is from one of the new hostess sets that is full of wonderful sentiment stamps in that gorgeous font).

Happy Graduation!

Isn't this just too fun!  You won't believe how easy these are to make!  Here is the tutorial I found.  She always has awesome tutorials and if you scroll down she even has a tutorial showing how to make the cute tassles!  I used the Perfect Pennants Die to make the "V's".  The background is embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  The Happy Graduation sentiment I used came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes  stamp set.....LOVE that one.....has something for almost every occasion!

Hope all of you Moms out there are having a Wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

Watercolor Love!

This card uses the beautiful Love & Sympathy stamp set.  We made this card at my stamp and stack also and it was a favorite.  We used Marina Mist and Old Olive (I believe that is the right green) markers to ink our flowers and everyone was amazed at how easy the marker to stamp technique is and how well it stamps!  That gorgeous texture peeping out is the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  I apologize as I can't find the original pin where I saw this card either.  I have to stop pinning and start creating original works...LOL!

Take Care

This sweet card uses the Take Care stamp set and the Bird Builder Punch.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and I used the Scallop Rectangle Clearlit for the "sign" .....I hate to see it go but it is retiring and is on sale right now for only $4.50 ..... be sure to check out all the accessories and stamps that are retiring.....there are some really good deals!  You can find everything here.  I also used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder that is being carried over from the holiday catalog!  It's quickly becoming one of my favorites!  The sweet ladies at my stamp and stack made this card also.....I know I saw the idea on someone's blog but I can't find it again.....I must have forgotten to pin it.....so sorry I apologize.

Ok....Ok....Just One More.... for Now!

I know you are probably getting anxious for me to move on to another stamp set ..... I promise this is the last one for a little while at least.  I have a couple of other projects to share that don't involve By the Tide ... LOL!  This card is one that we made last week at my stamp and stack...I have so much fun having ladies come over and stamp with me!  For this project I wish I could say this was an original idea but alas I saw it on guess where.....pinterest.  Here is the post from the original.  I used some inexpensive muslin fabric to stamp on and the sentiment is placed in one of Stampin Up's Soda Pop Tops.  I don't know what it is about flattening a soda pop top with my big shot that is so much fun but everyone at my stamp and stack agreed that it was a great stress reliever....LOL!  There are so many fun things you can do with these!  I will share a necklace I made soon.  A couple of the ladies were playing around with the smaller size (one on this project above is the larger size) and as I watched them work I thought what a super cute charm bracelet we could make with those!  Probably someone out there as done that already but if so, I haven't seen it yet.  I'm working on one now....I'll be sure to share when I get it completed.

By the Tide Again...

While my friend and I were playing with the card I posted yesterday we also made the card above based on this one which I found on pinterest!  I inked up some retired patterned paper I had left over and then white embossed that gorgeous seaweed fan from By the Tide .....I wish you could actually see this IRL and feel the raised embossing....so cool!  Just wanted to share another look made with this same fun stamp set.....if you scroll down a week or so you can check out my seahorse "hair gel" card....guess what....it's this same stamp set....totally different look.  I will definitely be playing with this one more in the near future!!!  This stamp set is in the spring mini.......hope it makes the cut to the new main catalog....he! he! he!

Happy Mother's Day

I saw this on pinterest and couldn't wait to try it!  There are so many fun things on there that I don't think I'll ever get everything made I want to try my hand at...LOL!  This is a project we made at my stamp and stack last week.  We used the Floral Frames Framelits to make the sunflower.  The stamp sets used for the front are Daydream Medallions, Mixed Bunch and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The Blossom punch coordinates with the Mixed Bunch stamp set making life so easy....hee! hee!  .....I can't stand to fussy cut!  I used the 7/8 Scallop punch for the center of the smaller flower.  I think that covers the front so now let me share my favorite part:

I wish I could have taken a better photo but it doesn't stand on it's own so I had to lean it against the easel.  I think you can get the idea though.

By The Tide

Isn't this just one of the cutest cards you've ever seen?  My friend and neighbor saw it here and we couldn't wait to try it.  I must admit we started out trying to brayer the color on and I found that I have a lot to learn about brayering.....LOL!  We ended up sponging our island indigo and crumb cake on and found that super quick and easy and we both loved the results.  Our "white foam spots" are from flicking (I'm sure there is a technical term for that but.....) bleach on our cardstock and LOVE that look!!!!  At first there were just a few tiny spots but as the bleach went to work this is what we got!  The only stamp set we used is By the Tide.....I can't believe I waited so long to order this set.  It is a huge stamp set for the price!  I am loving it.  So many different looks you can get!  This card doesn't even use the super cute lobster, seahorse or fish!  We heat embossed all the writing in white and added a strip of burlap and what a cute card we ended up with!!!  So doing these techniques again!!!  Don't forget to check out the retiring stamps and accessories here .  The accessories are selling out fast and only this month to get your order in for any stamp sets that are retiring, too!  The new catalog goes live May 31st!!!!  Just wait until you see the new in colors!!!!!  AMAZING!!
